Wijk en Aalburg, The Netherlands

This semi-detached house in the Dutch countryside is automated with Leviton products by BMB Electronics B.V. It concerns a typical Dutch home with living room and kitchen together and three bedrooms.

The idea for installing a Leviton control system originated from the wish of the owners to lose the ‘old school’ motorized screen control knobs from their walls and create a ‘cleaner’ interior. Discovering Leviton’s possibilities, they were happy to add lighting and heating control as well.

They now can control 4 lights and 3 motorized screens independently, both from standard in wall lighting switches and from their iPhones. Control over the thermostat in the iPhone app as well and they can use this at home or remotely from any place in the world!

Their previous RF lighting system sometimes had a ‘life on its own’ and therefore the owners are delighted with their new robust Leviton control system that hasn’t let them down once!

Warwick Square, Central London

This prestigious Central London residence is a perfect example of a Leviton connected home. The backbone of the solution is delivered by Leviton Security & Automation. The system includes a security and smoke detection system fully integrated with the access control, lighting control, blind control, heating control and the multi-room audio and AV systems. The entire house can be controlled by an iPad, smartphone or the LCD Touchscreen built into the wall.

Every room has a temperature sensor to allow for heating control, and multiple lighting circuits to allow for creation of any lighting scene to suit any mood. A pair of speakers in each room provides the audio, and PIRs and door sensors provide the security. An IP entry phone on the front and rear doors provide access control capability.

The aesthetics of this property were of high importance to the architects, so they chose to use the Leviton Hi-Fi 2 distributed audio system. They utilized plaster-over speakers for the 5.1 surround sound in the main living area and for the multi-room audio in the kitchen and the master bedroom. Other rooms use in-ceiling speakers for a high quality but low profile audio solution.
