With conventional outdoor speakers you typically turn up the volume so the sound can be heard all over the yard. The sound often is too loud near the speakers and broadcasting the sound in this manner may also disturb your neighbors. With the James system, an array of multiple directional satellite speakers installed around the perimeter of your yard will focus the sound within the desired listening area.

The James’ 109-GSP Landscape System includes (8) full range satellite speakers, (1) high output rock or planter subwoofer, (1) junction box and (1) 200 watt x 2 channel, 70.7 volt power amplifier. The versatile satellite speakers are equipped with ground spikes and hardware as required for installation in-ground, in trees, under eves, along fence lines etc. Six finishes are available including Verde, Sand, Pewter, Bronze, Copper and Black. All outdoor components are weather and UV resistant.

Installation is straightforward. Presumably, the amplifier will be located indoors together with the main audio system. A (4) conductor cable connects the power amplifier outputs to the junction box inputs. The junction box is watertight, designed to be buried and includes (2) 70.7 volt highest quality, no loss Toroidal transformers, crossover networks, and provisions for all speaker and subwoofer connections. All components should be hard wired with 16 gauge direct burial cable (not included). For best results, it is recommended that you install the satellites evenly spaced 10-15 feet apart and include both in-ground and above-ground locations. The subwoofer should be placed adjacent to or within the listening area. Also, placement of the subwoofer adjacent to a reflective surface, such as a wall, will reinforce the low frequency output.

The 109-GSP system will effectively cover a 2000 sq. ft. outdoor area. So let’s say you want great sound in multiple areas such as the pool area, the tennis court or the front entry? The base system is expandable as the single 70.7 volt power amplifier will operate up to (16) speaker satellites and (2) subwoofers. Multiple systems may be wired in parallel directly from the amplifier or in a daisy chain configuration from junction box to junction box. Also, because this is a 70.7 volt system, long wire runs up to 1000′ are possible with no loss in sound output or deterioration in sound quality.
