This project was a culmination of many years to trial and error. The house was built in 1995 and at that time, there were few options in multi room A/V. I originally had a soundstream music and video distribution system which lasted a few years. When an addition was added to the house in 06, that is when I decided to change over the system. I upgraded an old Omni to the latest Pro II and during the construction, ran all new cabling to the rooms and theater. Everything is now networked. I changed out the switches to UPB and installed the Russound system.

I had a crestron system controlling the theater and it frustrated be because I could not work on it and customize the control when I wanted. This is why I went with the HAI system. The 10P touchpanel, HTX and Automation Studio software. I was able to design all my screens and control what I want. The theater control is as easy as one button press. I designed macros to turn on the system in stages to give that full theater effect. With the 10P and ITouch, I can control the lighting, security, and thermostats throughout the house.

I also have Windows media extender boxes and X-box units tied to the HTPC so the bedrooms can watch tv and all the recorded shows.
