Lynx is a Home Automation system that allows control of X10 devices via the LynX-10 Coprocessor which plugs into the serial port of your PC. An optional LynX-PORT input / output board can be used to send input from sensors to the computer via X-10 signalling. Your PC must run continuously for the system to operate.
The program allows you to set up events and scenes which are activated by time schedules or triggers. The help system is excellent and guides you through the process of setting up devices, events and scenes.

Once you have defined your system, the LynX-Soft Explorer gives you an overview and allows additions, deletions and modifications to all settings. The Explorer is an excellent interface with a familiar windows touch and feel.
Of course your X10 devices can be manually controlled as well using the master control panel.

A handy feature of Lynx is the Status Monitor which shows you at a glance the status of all of your X10 modules.

And there’s an event log which keeps a record of events for you. One disappointment is a lack of Sunrise and Sunset data built into the program. Without this feature you must either use a Sundowner (which is the best way to detect sundown anyway) or use a fixed time of day to represent these events.
If you don’t mind leaving your PC on to control the house then this system should serve you well. Price Approx. $200.00 includes Coprocessor and Software.
