Amazingly located amidst the city, this 2,000 meters house is surrounded by a foggy and peaceful forest. Exhibiting a rich mixture of textures combining wood ceilings, concrete and brick walls, sleek views of their own private forest, and amazing outdoors the house has the perfect elements for raising a family. In a very traditional nurturing way.
In 2010, the designing and building started, with a bit of reserves from the owner which wasn’t sure if the automation systems could be limited in a certain point given the evolution of technology. He wanted something to grow with him and his family needs, evolving from the hand of technology advances, making the whole house work integrated and in harmony, and that it didn’t affect the architecture esthetic.
An integrated home for an integrated family:

Ensuring the perfect ambiance:
Whether the kids are playing or they have friends over, the house never gets out of control. With Savant system controller the family can customize the lights intensity, the songs being played in each room, the different TVs, and have an eye on all the security cameras, without moving from one place to another! With several iPod docks placed through the house, the family has a portable control of their environment easily creating it the way they want to.
A song for every holiday and every room:
Making the whole house play their favorite tunes with every occasion, the family has the access to tune all their music and media contents through the different speakers placed on bedrooms, bathrooms, playrooms, and deck. So whether kids are playing their songs or parents are having a special evening, they can all reproduce the songs they want on different areas. If their guests want to reproduce some of their media contents, the system intuitively allows them to search and play music on their apple devices.
Home, safe home:
With all their security cameras integrated the family has an eye on their main entrances. Every time a guest arrives at the front door, they can watch through their iPhone or iPads who is it and be sure that they are letting in the right person.
Lighthouse in the forest:
The exquisiteness of the home’s architecture lies on the blend of textures and how its walls are practically made of glass. This way the natural light illuminate through the day and at night all the interior and exteriors lights create a fine balance. It is a lot to illuminate, but the system makes it an easy task, through iPhones and iPads all the lights are controlled. Nevertheless what creates the perfect environment is the ability to decide and customize the intensity of lights. Something that perfectly match the architect’s intentions to create a perfect combination between natural and artificial light, leading also to energy efficiency.
Unusual situations or problems:
The house structure is made of steel, this represented a challenge for the surround system, since the speakers emitted a noise of land that was very difficult to remove.
The roof of the house is double height, the lighting had to be installed with scaffolding. After installed one of the stations Lutron Radio Ra began to fail, so it was complicated to get to it.
